Breaks or fractures of the wrist usually occur in the distal radius (section closest to hand) due to falling on an outstretched hand. Fractures are usually diagnosed using x-ray imaging, CT scans, and if needed, MRIs. Treatments vary with the severity of the break and need to be closely monitored when healing to ensure success.
