"I only look forward now, to my morning walks around the lake where I live, and most of all with quality time my nine year old granddaughter to go wherever she wants to go. "
"I have had three procedures at HSS in 2013/14. Dr. Bostrom did an extraordinary knee arthroscopy and I have regained full knee range minus pain. Dr. Darren Lebl replaced discs in my back and neck. I am just amazed at his skill and technique, I barely have a scar! I went in with a terrible pain in my arm and shoulder, I had a scar on my neck from previous cervical surgery, and I could scarcely believe that all these issues were resolved."
" Leading up to my surgery in January 2014, my riding had been compromised by increasing hip pain and weakness. It became difficult to dismount after riding and increasingly precarious to start off. I had to give up riding any difficult horses all together. I was weak and in pain and unable to cope with any fractious behavior. Three months after surgery I was riding again, and six months later I was in the show ring again. Now, a year later, I feel stronger and more secure than ever."
"I have and will still recommend HSS to anyone i meet that needs surgery and is scared. I do this because I feel that the Hospital for Special Surgery is the most sophisticated, intelligent, professional, caring, personalized, environment that I have ever been in. Thank you Dr. Ranawat, Rachael, James, Ana, Renee and everyone at the hospital, for giving me use of my right leg again, and being able to run!"
"A few years ago I started seeing Dr James. Wyss for constant sciatic pain. He did several epidurals and I did some PT. I was very nervous about the epidurals but Dr. Wyss is a master, there was little to no discomfort. Unfortunately, the pain remained. Dr Wyss recommended I see Dr. Matthew Cunningham. Dr. Cunningham explained why a fusion was what I needed and we scheduled the surgery. I asked Dr. Cunningham when I could plan a big trip and he recommended one year post op."
"I am 56 and underwent bi-lateral hip resurfacing at HSS by Dr. Su on March 4, 2014. Surgery time was an amazing 3.5 hours. In addition to osteoarthritis in both hips, I had significant deformity to my left femoral head and socket and leg shortening with affected the alignment of my entire pelvic region. Dr Su put it this way to me "you were a challenging case"."
"Within a week I had less pain from that foot than I’d had in at least a year, and now five months later I am a new person, walking as much as I want to with total abandon."
