I loved playing tennis and had been playing 4 times a week until I found I could not put pressure on my foot. I began walking with a limp and it affected my back. After a few years of this, I was desperate to do something. After seeing at least 4 different orthopedists and being told that I needed at least a double arthrodesis and that after a while this will affect my ankle, I needed another solution.
My physical therapist mentioned Dr. Rozbruch and I emailed him right away. He responded immediately and told me to make an appointment. We discussed what he would do and I agreed to the surgery. At least I was not fusing any joints. It is now three years since the surgery and I am walking all over NYC as well as exercising on the treadmill a minimum of 4 times a week for an hour each time. I am not 100% pain free, but the temporary pain I feel is minimal. I just had my yearly physical and my blood work came back better than ever. My internist said that my good cholesterol results were a result of someone who exercises. I didn't have these numbers a few years ago. I am so grateful to be walking and exercising again considering that I am in my early 60's and want to keep up my good health. I thank Dr. Rozbruch for that! I have shared my story on my blog, ShelleySays.com and have received questions about the surgery. It is good to let people know that this type of surgery exists.
