I had a progressive complex internal rotation deformity of my right femur head, which weakened the quality of my femur bone. I went to many doctors who would not take my case, however Dr. Carli provided impeccable care and research into my replacement with multiple conversations and tests to ensure he could complete the replacement correctly.
One of the things I will always remember from our first visit is him asking me to videotape our conversation so I could review it later with my family, which was an amazing help as a tutorial and refresher for myself and the method to explain the procedure to my family and friends.
Going into the surgery, Dr. Carli explained the difficulty and possible issues we would face. Post-surgery, he explained the over-three-hour surgery in which he would use multiple apparatus to try to find the perfect fit for my replacement while consulting with colleagues to ensure he was doing the best job.
Dr. Carli and his team post-surgery were fantastic. They always followed up to see how I was feeling and made sure I was following the proper recovery guidelines.
The first six weeks of recovery were non-weightbearing. I progressed from 50% weightbearing using a walker to now 100% weight-bearing as tolerated with a cane.
The surgery has completely changed my life for the better from a physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual standpoint. I have hope again and this is all because of Dr. Carli.
