I'm an endurance cyclist by way of Team in Training. For a change, I decided to try a triathlon at age 58. Running was NOT my thing. I experienced a stress fracture of my femur a month or so before the NYC Triathlon. My coaches thought it was my quads, but the symptoms really didn't fit. Dr. Halpern called it immediately and the MRI confirmed that it was a stress fracture of my femur.
After rest, I got back in the game. I rode in a relatively short event (37.5 miles) last fall and will be riding America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride (100 miles) in Lake Tahoe in June. I'm running, swimming and cycling again! I'm registered for the NYC Triathlon again this year, so here's hoping!
