I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Vigdorchik on the recommendation of a friend, having unsuccessfully tried physical therapy for two months. Not only was my hip totally deteriorated, but my pelvis was tilted in two directions and my spine in a third. The pain was constant and severe and walking was extremely difficult. There are not enough positive adjectives to describe the care, skill and compassion I received from Dr. Vigdorchik and his staff. From the moment I met him, I felt confident and hopeful as he went over the x-ray with me, answered all my questions, and described the procedure and recovery process. His team is led by Lisa Pugliese and you couldn’t find a kinder, more caring practice manager. Every person I encountered was knowledgeable, patient and compassionate. My total hip replacement went beautifully and I was home the same day, walking up my stairs with the aid of a cane. When I returned for my six week follow-up, I had no pain whatsoever in my new hip, which felt like it was always a part of me. In addition, I was slowly regaining my proper alignment. In former decades I spent many hours playing basketball and running marathons. In later years, I enjoyed hiking the trails of Sedona. Before my surgery, I could barely walk a block. Three months after my surgery I was back on the trails of Sedona, shorter and more gentle but just as beautiful. I have my life back and I am truly grateful to Dr. Vigdorchik, his staff and all who assisted me at HSS. Thank you hardly seems enough.
