Last summer I had the worst day of my life. I was on vacation, riding on a bike with my dad when we hit a bump and my leg got pulled in the spokes of the front wheel and broke. It hurt so much. My mom made me an appointment with Dr. Heyer for the next day and we drove home with my leg on a pillow in the car.
I was very nervous and my leg hurt a lot. Dr. Heyer was very patient and answered all my questions and listened to all my fears. I had a lot of concerns. She showed me the x-ray and how my leg needed to heal in a cast. She showed my mom how to take care of the wound on my leg and help me get around with a walker. I screamed a lot when they put the cast on, but Dr. Heyer helped me take deep breaths and brought in another doctor to help me face my fears. After they put the cast on my leg I felt so much better - and the cast was my favorite color, blue!
It took a long time, but Dr. Heyer said my leg healed "beautifully". I'm now back to swimming, running, jumping and my leg is as good as new. Thank you Dr. Heyer!
