The day was September 18th, 2014 and it was my 3rd soccer game of my high school senior season. I played soccer all my life with aspirations to play in college. At that game was a college coach scouting me. All of a sudden I pivoted and my cleats locked in the turf and I heard the “pop”. I tried to continue playing but could not. I tore my ACL and meniscus.
When my parents and I knew how serious the injury was and that we had to have surgery there was only one hospital and doctor we had in mind, the doctor that performed surgery on my best friend 4 years earlier and also performed surgery on another teammate, that doctor is Dr. Rodeo from Hospital For Special Surgery.
The surgery was October 17th, 2014. Dr. Rodeo, the nurses and the staff at Hospital For Special Surgery were great! After months of grueling rehab, my goal was to be ready for the college season in September. Well on September 3rd, 2015 I had my first college game for D-2 St Thomas of Aquinas College and I was the starting center midfielder.
Thanks to Dr. Rodeo and everyone from Hospital for Special Surgery.
