In 2011, I was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays. At one point, I was rated in the top 100 prospects in baseball and pitched in the MLB Futures Game. I made my Major League debut on September 5th against the Boston Red Sox as a 21-year-old. Later in September, I made my first Major League start before discovering that I needed arthroscopic surgery on my left elbow to remove bone spurs. My surgery was performed by Dr. David Altchek of Hospital for Special Surgery. The recovery time was about six weeks.
