I had been suffering with excruciating pain on my right side for many months. I didn't know what it was but I needed to find out because I could no longer walk without assistance, I couldn't get out of a chair or sleep in my bed. I visited the HSS website and researched all the orthopedic surgeons. Only one stood out to me and it was Dr. Elizabeth Gausden. I read all the patient stories and knew immediately that I had to make an appointment to see her. I met with Dr. Elizabeth Gausden for the first time on August 24th, 2023. Dr. Gausden confirmed that I needed a full hip replacement and I didn't hesitate in my decision to move forward with the procedure. I was really scared, but I had so much confidence, respect, and faith in Dr. Gausden. Dr. Gausden was so easy to speak with and her team and support staff was so competent and caring. Everyone in her office made the entire process from start to finish easy. When the day came for surgery, I was nervous, but I knew I had the best surgeon and the best hospital. Her medical team was outstanding. It's been 6 weeks since my surgery and I am so happy to say that I feel great and I am walking again and working hard to become more and more active. I can't express my deepest thanks enough to Dr. Gausden, her team, and the HSS family. This was a positive and very supportive experience. I'm so happy that I am finally pain-free and Dr. Gausden has helped me get my life back. I'm now looking forward to traveling, walking, riding my bicycle and just enjoying my life at 70 years old. Thank you for everything Dr. Gausden. You are so amazing, talented, and just an extraordinary surgeon and caregiver.
