I tore my ACL and meniscus playing basketball one month into medical school back in September 2018. After a little search into the literature I came across some papers describing this new approach to ACL tear management from Dr. DiFelice. He and his team were extremely helpful getting me an appointment quickly despite his busy schedule and one week after my first appointment I was headed to the surgery. His innovative ACL primary repair approach re-attached my torn ACL back to the bone without needing to use allo/autografts, drastically easing my recovery. My post-op pain was minimal without even taking any pain medications. So much so I went and took my Histology final 2 days later. I was back to walking in a matter of weeks and depicted in the picture is me rock climbing with full range of motion in my operated knee only 2 months later! And then depicted in my avatar is me backpacking across northern Vietnam 5 months post-op.
2 years later, my knee feels great! My knee feels stable, and I sometimes I forget I even had surgery in that knee. All of this was possible because of Dr. DiFelice and his team, and I am forever grateful to them.
