Dr. Khormaee is an excellent doctor, perhaps tied with an earlier internist of mine who was known to the large medical community as "The Emperor" because of his diagnostic and referral capabilities. The most telling comment on Dr. Khormaee's skills in my five-hour lumbar spine operation was from my former physical therapist who immediately commented "now I can look you in the eye."
Dr. Khormaee is a fabulous communicator. She answered all of my questions completely, understandably and took the time that was needed to be sure I understood her answer. She openly admitted that my surgery's success was by no means certain, but she would perform it if I chose to proceed. She explained how I might proceed without surgery. She visited me in my room each day I was in the hospital post-surgery. Her follow-up was perfect. She flawlessly kept in touch with me though video visits (I live over 725 miles from Manhattan) through my recovery.
Dr. Khormaee rescheduled my surgery so that she could assemble the operating theater team she preferred for my procedure.
Post-surgery, Dr. Khormaee listens and asks questions until she understands what you are asking. Her office staff's help was perfect. She also has a good sense of humor as does her staff.
I wish I could say more in my praise of Dr. Khormaee and HSS and the people who work there!
