Collegiate lacrosse player Tristen suffered a right ACL tear during a game in late April. She had a similar injury to her left ACL and meniscus during her sophomore season. For this recent injury, Dr. John MacGillivray, sports medicine surgeon at HSS, reconstructed her right ACL at the Main Campus in New York City. She was able to put full weight on her leg less than a week after surgery, worked hard during rehab and has had an excellent recovery. She says Dr. MacGillivray understands the mindset of college athletes and her need to be active. He made her surgical experience as easy and painless as possible. She is eager to get back to coaching and playing club lacrosse. An avid distance runner, Tristen plans to run a marathon in two years and began training this September.
