My experience with HSS was top notch. I received first class care, and never for a moment did not feel entirely taken care of. My injury, was a rare one, bilateral patellar tendon rupture. Based on medical literature, there have been under 75 reported cases!

I had been a competitive athlete my entire life, and had developed tendinitis over the years, but nothing that stopped me from remaining active. One day, while leisurely jumping on a trampoline in the Hamptons, they snapped. It was traumatic and scary! I was taken via ambulance to a nearby hospital first, but ultimately, we knew I needed to have the surgery at HSS.

We called Dr. Joshua Dines, and he was able to get me in to surgery the very next day! He discussed everything with me, and made sure I was comfortable with the plan of action. Surgery was a breeze. Afterwards, during my hospital stay, the nursing staff was extremely attentive, kind, and knowledgeable.

When I got home, it was definitely hard to get around in a wheel chair with both my legs immobilized, but Dr. Dines and I communicated regularly via email and phone. He was genuinely concerned with my recovery. When I was finally able to start physical therapy (8 weeks out), HSS set me up with a recommended facility that also did wonders.

I am now a year out, and am back to exercising, running, biking, playing with my children, and wearing heels! All without pain! I must also mention my scars are barely recognizable as well! Thank you to all in helping me get back to normal! Couldn't have done it without you.
