I woke up on August 4, 2015 in a pain that I have never felt before. I am an assistant soccer coach, a teacher coordinator and an educational business owner, so I am extremely busy. When the pain in my left arm began to slow me down and take control of my life I decided to seek help. I began seeing a chiropractor for two weeks, followed by physical therapy three times a week for two weeks, and then a pain specialist who prescribed five medications for a two week period as well as receiving an epidural injection that did nothing to null my pain. Trying to be proactive and find a solution, I had gotten an MRI on August 28, 2015, and a neurologist contacted me and said that I needed to have surgery immediately. He nearly scared me half to death, and I set out to get three more opinions. After getting two professional opinions one in New Jersey, and the other in Pennsylvania, my coworker referred me to HSS and assured me that this was the best hospital to have my surgery. So I completed the online questionnaire, and I was given three doctor's names. I decided to call Dr. Kim's office, and my success story unbeknownst to me was being written and I didn't even know it.
On October 12, 2015 I met Dr. Han Jo Kim, and after his detailed explanation, professionalism, compassion and concern for my well being, it was a no brainer and I booked my November 11, 2015 surgery date that day. I received all of the information I needed from Dr. Kim's staff and I felt as if I were a star because they were so friendly and continued to assure me that I was at the best place and in great hands.
November 2, 2015 I met with Dr. Chad Craig and he also explained the entire procedure in length, and told me what to expect, how I would feel afterwards and the recovery time and expectations. I was so excited to have these two amazing doctors heading my surgical team. Dr. Kim performed my surgery on November 11, 2015 at 3pm, and I haven't felt any pain since. I am forever grateful to Dr. Kim and Dr. Craig and their staff for their dedication to their patients, and I am Back in the Game because of them. My life is great again. And I can enjoy my family.
