Like so many others, I came to HSS an active middle aged man that had underwent multiple unsuccessful surgeries elsewhere. I was told there was nothing anyone could do for me, and in some ways that was correct. You see I’m not the typical HSS story. Someone that comes here, has a surgery or two and is “Back in the Game” as we say. My path was a little different and some of my issues much larger. And like it’s so easy for us to do in situations like that, I became frustrated, and angry with my situation. You see I just wanted to be the way I was before. But somewhere along my journey I realized God had a slightly different plan. You see all of my doctors here at HSS never gave up no matter what the problem. Thanks to them I realized that my getting Back in the Game meant not spending the rest of my life in a wheelchair. Everyone at HSS has given me a true gift, HOPE. To the doctors, nurses, staff, and my friends in the parking garage - I consider all of you family. You’ve helped me get through some of my most difficult times in my life. I thank God for all of you.
