I started experiencing shoulder and arm pain in February of 2015. It took several months before I was properly diagnosed with herniated discs in my cervical spine. Meanwhile my symptoms progressed through the spring and early summer to the point where it was painful to perform routine tasks like driving and working at the computer. Most upsetting, my workout regimen of weightlifting and cardio had become impossible to maintain. I was devastated at the idea of needing spinal fusion. With my diagnosis in hand, I immediately contacted HSS for an appointment aware of their reputation for excellence. Dr. Bernard Rawlins immediately confirmed my diagnosis and we scheduled surgery for August. I had read Dr. Rawlins' bio on the HSS web site and after our first meeting I had complete faith in his ability. The thoroughness of all the staff at HSS furthered my confidence. I am happy to say the road was hard, but not long due the the expertise of my surgeon. In only six months I am back to where I was before the injury. I don't believe I would have achieved the same results if i had gone anywhere else. Amazing.
