I tore my left ACL and meniscus in 2016 during Labor Day Weekend. Doctors would not preform the surgery because I was 12-years-old at the time. They said my growth plates were still open and we needed a specialist in pediatric orthopedics. After my parents asked for advice, we were told to speak with someone at HSS. We made an appointment and were introduced to Dr. Fabricant. What can I say about Dr. Fabricant? He was very professional, comforting and assuring that he could get me back to playing on field. I had surgery in October 2016. After 12 months of rehabilitation and visits with Dr Fabricant I was fully healed and cleared to play. With the injury in the review mirror, I tried out for my high school freshman basketball team and made it. The joy of having made the team and returning to a normal school year was stopped in its tracks when I tore my right ACL and meniscus during practice. I was heartbroken. Knowing the pain and hard work it took to return dawned on me. My parents called Dr. Fabricant and made an appointment. Dr. Fabricant was surprised to see me and after a quick exam, it was confirmed that I had tore the ACL and meniscus in my right knee. I had surgery done in March 2018. Dr. Fabricant was very optimistic that I would return healthy and that I would see the field and the court. After 12 months of rehabilitation I was cleared to return to sports in March 2019. I would like to thank Dr. Fabricant and his staff for all the help during both surgeries. Dr. Fabricant is the best!
