In April 2014, while on a hiking trip, my persistent lower back pain deteriorated and gave rise to acute sciatica. I could barely walk or stand. In September that year, Dr. Moley administered an epidural steroidal injection that put me back on my feet. In October, I went on my regular fall break hiking trip. Throughout the winter season, I enjoyed downhill skiing as usual. And two weeks ago, I completed another hiking trip with a long overnight backpack, carrying a 50-pound load (picture attached). Life is good.
