Blessings,
I had my 1st hip replacement in Oct. 2020 at another facility that treat veterans like me. I had to endure approximately two months of Rehab, plus outpatient PT. They did a great job! I had previously wanted HSS to perform both surgeries, but I couldn't get an appointment until Feb. 2021 due to COVID-19.
For my 2nd hip replacement, I saw Dr. Leali, who is a wonderful man. If he could have done my surgery in early March when I saw him, trust me we would have done it then. I then saw Dr. Gausden, who said to me me that she would be my surgeon for the operation - GREAT! I told her whatever she felt was the best procedure for me, posterior or anterior, go for it. I didn't need to have matching scars - anterior is what I got!
I had my surgery on Monday, March 22nd and was out on Wednesday, March 24th going home with a cane. I was up and walking the very first day of my surgery. Dr. Gausden came and checked on me the day of and the day when I was leaving.
I would STRONGLY recommend Dr. Gausden and HSS for any and all knee and hip replacements! You cannot and will not be disappointed!
Dr. Gausden, I can't thank you enough for your patience and talent in making my life more enjoyable. You are the BESTEST! You rock Ms. Lady! God bless you and HSS! See you in 6 months!
