I played four years of NCAA Division II Men's Soccer and sustained labrum tears in my hips on both the right and left side.

During my sophomore year in college, I tore the labrum in my left hip. Dr. Kelly repaired the tear and shaved down my femur head leaving barely any noticeable scarring. I had the surgery in February 2012 and I needed to get back in time to be fit for the upcoming soccer preseason which took place in August. This was the job of Eilish O'Sullivan, a PT at HSS' Rehab center. The recovery was tough because it was like learning how to walk again. Eilish coached me to full range of motion and got me back in tip top shape in time for season. Thanks to all of the extra hip exercises that I had been doing in PT, my legs felt stronger than ever entering that season.

Though I felt strong, Dr. Kelly advised me that it is common for patients who tore their labrum on one side, to tear the other. Sure enough at the end of my senior year, I tore the labrum in my right hip. Because Dr. Kelly did such an amazing job on my left hip, I was confident in his ability to repair me once more. I underwent successful surgery in May 2014. Dr. Kelly did another great job with hardly any scarring visible. For this recovery, I was in the hands of a PT at the HSS Rehab Center. My PT, being an athlete himself, put me through many great exercises that were challenging and specific to my sport. I worked hard under his direction and felt stronger than ever in only four months post surgery.

The staff and environment at the HSS Rehab center had me looking forward to each training session. The physical therapists there were all very knowledgeable and got me back in the game, competing in my sport at a higher level. I am now in the best shape of my life and I owe a great deal of that to Dr. Bryan T. Kelly, Eilish O'Sullivan, and the rest of the HSS staff. I am able to play soccer again, go on hikes, rock climb, snowboard, and try any other activities without any physical limitations.
