My story began in the spring of 2012. I woke up one morning and felt a bit of pain getting out of bed; I had a hard time bending my knees. I've always been very active, so this was very unusual. In a short period of time, problem became more serious, and I started experiencing extreme pain in my arms, shoulders, hips and knees. I went to four different doctors for help; my regular doctor, and two orthopedic doctors, and a podiatrist (thinking possibly it was a foot problem). I had a complete physical. No one knew what was wrong.
My condition became so bad that I could hardly walk; it would take me a few hours just to get ready for work in the morning. I had already planned a trip to Walt Disney World to do a 5k, but could hardly walk when I arrived. This was awful for me. I am an active owner of a fragrance company and would easily work seven days a week, never running out of energy.
When my condition deteriorated to the point that I felt I couldn't live with the pain, my son Justin made an appointment with Dr. Jessica Gordon. Dr. Gordon knew exactly what was wrong and diagnosed me with polymyalgia rheumatica, and within a few days, I was running up and down stairs, once again, as if I were a teenager.
Today, a few years later, I am still going strong, as my last trip to Disney shows. That's me on stage at the Hoop Dee Do Revue in Walt Disney World, Orlando. Thank you Dr. Gordon. You are my angel.
