I’ve always been active. I’ve done everything - boxing, Pilates, barre, and in my mid-40s after Covid I started to run and ran two half marathons in 2022 and 2023. I first started to experience pain in my hip and down my right leg during my first pregnancy. The leg pain subsided but the hip pain never did. When I took up running, that’s when things went downhill. First the plantar fasciitis, then the constant leg pain like I had pulled a hamstring. Dr. Baxi at first used cortisone on both my foot and back. Then we did shockwave therapy on my foot which helped tremendously. But after a second epidural on my back didn’t work I knew it was time for surgery. Dr. Dowdell was great. It was tough at first and he assured me after six months I could get back to my former life. Now I’m back to boxing and I’m hoping to start training for and run in the NYC marathon this Fall.
