After a failed total hip replacement, I was left 2cm shorter on the operative side, with chronic back pain, nerve damage, and pain when I walked. I was an active 62 year old prior to my surgery and enjoyed a life of outdoor sports living in Seattle. I felt crippled and depressed. After some research, I wrote Dr. Rodriguez, sent medical records, and scheduled an appointment. My wife and I made a leap of faith to travel across the country to HSS. In my initial visit, Dr. Rodriguez was able to diagnose my condition as a misplaced prosthesis. He laid out a course of action and was honest about potential outcomes. Throughout my care, Dr. Rodriguez was an excellent communicator, he was compassionate, and in the end a consummate surgeon. My recovery has been remarkable, I was able to walk onto a plane after 2 weeks! My leg strength and stability have returned, I walk with an even gait, and no more pain! I feel extremely lucky to have found my way to HSS and Dr. Rodriguez.
