I've never known a life without volleyball, but in February 2013, that all changed. I started having hip pain and it quickly escalated. Not only was I in so much pain that I could not play volleyball, but I could not sleep through the night or sit for more than 10 minutes. Tying my shoes? forget about it! I went to multiple doctors that all said I pulled my hip flexor. It wasn't until one doctor gave me the correct MRI that I was diagnosed with a labral tear in my left hip and was able to get in to see Dr. Kelly.
He performed surgery in November 2013. The next day I was already in less pain than before surgery and by January 2014, I was back on the courts. I am now in better shape than ever and am playing for the GEVA PVL team; a grass roots professional volleyball league based out of New Jersey, Long Island, and the Greater Metropolitan Area of New York City. I can thank Dr. Kelly for getting me back in the game!
