I was a senior in high school when I unfortunately tore my ACL, MCL, and meniscus. This injury devastated me and I thought that I would never be able to play a sport again; tearing an ACL seems to be the biggest fear of most athletes and I understood why on August 23rd 2013. Hospital for Special Surgery was where I originally went for just a second opinion, but after meeting Dr. Marx and reading his book I realized that he was the only surgeon I would allow to operate on my knee. The way he talked to me and the confidence he showed in his work reassured me how great of a surgeon he was. On the day of my surgery I was nervous and I did not even want to go through with it but I did and it was a very easy process, the entire staff was knowledgeable and caring and they helped through the entire day from the minute I walked in the door until I was in my car heading home. My scars healed up great and I did not have one problem with my rehab, I was fortunate enough to recover and be able to compete in my final Track and Field season in high school and also be recruited to compete at the NCAA division II level for the Seton Hill University Griffins. I would like to thank Dr. Marx and the whole HSS staff for helping me get back in the game!
