I have always enjoyed an active lifestyle until a herniated disc caused unrelenting sciatica for almost 10 months. After meeting with less than satisfactory results with epidural injections and physical therapy, I consulted with Dr. Harvinder Sandhu in early July of 2014. I was immediately impressed with the effort Dr. Sandhu had made to fully understand my personal condition before he walked into the examination room. With great patience and demeanor, he at once made me feel confident that he was going to provide the help I needed. I felt so sure that I was in the right hands that I made arrangements for surgery as soon as possible. Less than two weeks later, I had my surgery. Every doctor, nurse, and technician I encountered was friendly, courteous and engaging. In fact, Hospital for Special Surgery runs like a well oiled machine. Dr. Sandhu and his team did a fantastic job, and when I awoke from anesthesia, I was pain free. 7 weeks after surgery, I am in physical therapy, and feeling great. Sciatica is a thing of the past, and I am looking to resuming table tennis and cycling, two of my passions in life.
