I tore my right hip labrum in 2011 playing in a charity hockey tournament and had my surgery in April 2012. I elected surgery because I didn’t want to hang up the pads. I’ve played goal all my life, in college and beyond, and wanted my playing “career” to last as long as possible. It was a long road back, but well worth it. I was back in the net 11 months after. Now at 51, I’m still stopping pucks. I’m pictured here in the crease at my prep school alumni game in January 2015. I’m very glad I had the surgery, and am grateful for the care I received at HSS.
