An injury from 1988 became aggravated during a Grand Canyon hiking/camping trip in spring 2016.
My ankle began to constantly hurt, just as I was preparing to join my daughter in a Nutcracker ballet performance at Christmas. At 46 years old, this was the debut dance performance of my life, and this event was an important way to spend time with my daughter in her area of passion.
Dr. Metzl quickly diagnosed post-traumatic arthritis. With no surgery, and a rigorous program of physical therapy, I was back on my feet and danced the polonaise, chasse and polka in front of 6000 people, including my daughter! It was a terrific experience, and I'm grateful.
