It all started with an episode of debilitating low back pain which subsided in about a week and a half. Then the nervy radiating pain started down into my calf along with numbness in my foot. That burning, stabbing pain reached a point where it was constant and no matter what position I tried I could not sleep throughout the night. I was recommended to Dr. James Wyss by a fellow co-worker. I knew I was in good hands with someone who had both a Physical Therapy background and was also a Physiatrist. Dr. Wyss has such a personable bedside manner, knows how to listen to his patients, and took his time to make sure I had all the information I needed in order to make an educated decision with regards to my care. After 2 epidurals and 6 months later my pain is nearly gone and continues to improve. I have Samantha Atlas, my Physical Therapist at HSS, to thank for getting me moving safely when I first started getting back to exercise. I also want to thank Jennifer Nuccio (office manager to Dr. Wyss) and Jo Romano Diamond (Nurse at Dr. Wyss's office) for their help, attention, and consideration on my various visits to the office. I plan on doing my second Tough Mudder this upcoming November as well as a few mountain climbing trails I love. It is with deepest and heart felt appreciation that I thank Dr. Wyss and his amazing staff at HSS for getting me back to my game.
