I broke my elbow snowboarding in Vermont in 2012 and had to have immediate surgery to fix the break. However, after many months of physical therapy, I was unable to fully utilize my left arm. When I stopped making progress in physical therapy, I was referred to the doctors at HSS. Initially, I met with Dr. Wolfe, who was able to quickly identify why I was unable to fully use my arm. What I appreciated most about my experience with him was that he humbly referred me to Dr. Hotchkiss, a doctor he felt was better capable of handling my case. Not having an appointment, Dr. Hotchkiss was able to find time in his busy schedule to meet me that day. Sadly, I would need surgery again. He didn't rush our meeting, answered ALL my questions, and made me feel confident that I was in the best hands. There wasn't any doubt in my mind that this is where I needed to be.
Throughout my surgical and post-operative care, Dr. Hotchkiss and his team were caring, attentive, honest and transparent. Hands down, he has one of the best bedside manners of any doctors I've come across.
Dr. Hotchkiss is a miracle worker. Thanks to him, I'm able to hold my 8 month-old son without any pain, something I wasn't so sure would be possible after my accident!! Thank you to Dr. Hotchkiss and everyone at HSS!
