I had a partial ACL tear in 2015. After an MRI, the doctor informed me that no surgery was needed and that it would heal through scarring. I resumed physical activity, particularly by playing basketball, and after a few months it was clear that something was not right. I went to HSS and got an MRI done by Dr. Nawabi, who then confirmed it was fully torn and that an additional procedure called lateral tenodesis would be needed. I had the surgery in early Jan 2017 and have been cleared by Dr. Nawabi last week. The difference is sizable. My leg feels stable and strong, and I can't wait to get back on the court. Thank you Dr. Nawabi, you did an perfect job in a complicated procedure.
