I came to Dr. Strickland after suffering a severe right knee injury in 2015 train derailment. After x-rays and a MRI diagnosed multiple fractures, a torn MCL, ACL and lateral meniscus, Dr. Strickland carefully and thoroughly explained her suggested course of action, helping to keep my mind at ease as I faced a long road back. Beginning in June 2015, I underwent two successful surgeries, a lateral meniscus repair and, subsequently, an ACL replacement, both performed by Dr. Strickland. After over a year of both pre-and-post operative physical therapy as prescribed by Dr. Strickland, I was able to regain almost full range of motion and overcome significant atrophy in my right leg. As I continue to work out regularly following the conclusion of my physical therapy, my complete range of motion and strength are returning and I have been able to resume many of the physical activities that I took part in prior to the accident. This was a long, emotional and difficult process fraught with my own fears as to whether I would even be able to walk again. Dr. Strickland’s bedside manner, confident analysis and plan for my recovery helped to alleviate my doubts and gave me the confidence to persevere through a tedious physical therapy regiment. I could never have recovered without Dr. Strickland’s expertise and the efforts of her entire staff at HSS. I am "Back in the Game"
