I tore up my ACL about 9 years ago, playing soccer. I went to the doctor's and they told me that the only way to fix it was surgery. The doctor said the recovery process would take a while; 6-9 months! I couldn't get the surgery done because I had a family to provide for and I just got a new job. I continued working because I had no choice but to take care of my family. During the harsh 9 years my knee would continue to pop here and there; it would also slide up and down. My knee would be very painful everyday. I finally made a choice of going back to my doctor. We discussed having ACL surgery. My doctor made me feel very uncomfortable about the whole situation. I wasn't sure if he was the right doctor to operate on me. I was so lost and confused. A few days later I did some research regarding about an ACL specialist for the Orthopedic Surgery Sport Medicine. Luckily, I found Samuel A. Taylor, M.D. I made an appointment with him. My first appointment was great, and my gut told me that he was the right doctor. He made me feel that everything would be okay. He described the whole surgery process step-by-step to me. The surgery was a success after all. Now its been a year and I'm very pleased with the whole outcome. It was all worth it at the end. Many thanks to Dr. Taylor's staff and especially to Dr. Taylor!
