Five years ago I started having severe wrist pain. I went to a local doctor that was touted as one of the best hand/wrist docs in the country. He gave me a shot of cortisone and sent me on my way. A year later he told me I had a severe case of SLAC (Scaphoid Lunate Advanced Collapse) that would require surgery. He said it was a very difficult surgery and I would be lucky to use that hand to tie my shoes. I was an avid golfer and only 49 so I was devastated when he told me I would most likely never swing a golf club after my recovery. I knew there were several professional golfers that had hand injuries so I used the internet to find out what doctor they chose and it was Dr. Weiland. I made an appointment and flew into New York to see him. He told me my wrist was messed up but he could gain me a little more movement than I had and was confident I would golf again. Well I have been playing good golf for the last three years but I have been waiting to write a review until I really accomplished something so I could thank Dr. Weiland. I just won our city senior golf championship. Here is an excerpt from Monday's paper: "Mike W won the senior division, claiming the Jim McKinney Cup after carding a par 72 on Sunday. He shot a 2-over 214 for the weekend, and his 4-under 66 in Friday’s first round at A.L. Gustin was the best round in the Columbia Golf Championship since 2014." All I can say is he saved me from a fused wrist. Thank you Dr. Weiland!!
