On May 31st, I tore my Achilles' tendon. I opted for surgery and I decided to go to my local hospital- Lawrence Hospital- to do the surgery. WHAT A MISTAKE THAT WAS! After 4 months of recovering and physical therapy I realized that something was still going on with my leg. After x-rays and an MRI I took my results to Hospital for Special Surgery where I was treated by Dr. David S. Levine. I knew immediately after meeting with him that I had made the best decision coming to this hospital and that I was in the greatest hands I could be in. He thoroughly explained to me that I had developed a severe infection in my Achilles, what he need to do, what I was to expect and what my recovery would be. He performed the surgery cleaning out the infection and saved my Achilles from further damage. He did an amazing job and was with me every step of the way! His professionalism, bedside manor and patience is beyond words! The hospital and staff were wonderful, they made my recovery that much easier. Do not make the mistake that I did. Thanks to Dr. Levine I AM BACK IN THE GAME!!
