The first year of my NBA career was busy, but very productive. I won four Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month awards, and then went on to win the 2013-14 NBA Rookie of the Year and was just the third player since the 1950-1951 season to lead all rookies in scoring, rebounding and assists.
I gave my all in 2013, so much so that when the season ended, my right shoulder needed work. I sought out renowned surgeon Dr. David Altchek to perform surgery on my labrum and to ensure a quick and healthy return to basketball. After six months of rehab, I got back in the game with full range to dribble, pass and shoot with my dominant arm.
