Back in 2008 I was officiating hockey games all over the Northeast. On October 19th, 2008 I broke my right hand/wrist/arm refereeing a hockey game up in Boston. The hospital in Hoboken pointed me to a hand surgeon in NJ who took one look at the x-ray and said “you need a wrist surgeon”. Luckily the CEO of my company had just had elbow surgery at Hospital for Special Surgery and pointed me there.
By the time I had come into the office it was on Friday the 24th of October and my wrist had been in terrible pain for 6 days at that point. Dr. Wolfe’s team was able to create the plastic (removable) post-surgery cast that day and allowed me to wear it home, along with scheduling my surgery for the very next workday, Monday (Oct 27th). Wearing that plastic cast was the first time since the break that my wrist wasn’t grabbing me in pain. The surgery went off without a hitch, the follow-up care and visits were great and after completing my physical therapy I was able to regain my range of motion and strength.
I honestly just wanted to say thank you to Dr. Wolfe and his awesome team! I’m so glad that you have found medicine as your calling and that I was fortunate enough to have you as my doctor. I’ve since gotten married and recently had a little boy (7 month old) and I can hold him in either arm without thinking twice about a “bad side” because I don’t have a bad side. Thank you!
Truly and honestly, thank you very much!
Matt
