Dr. MacGillivray enabled me to return to an active lifestyle after tearing my ACL and MCL in a snowboarding accident in mid-February. After reviewing the MRI he assured me I would be able to run, mountain bike and snowboard again. His expertise and confidence put me at ease. The surgery was April 1st. I was running in September and snowboarding in October. I closely followed the doctor, HSS and the physical therapist’s instructions, and still perform the PT exercises regularly. On the snow this winter I rarely gave my knee a thought. It performed well which is remarkable since it was so weak and vulnerable before the surgery. Thank you to Dr. MacGillivray, his staff, the HSS staff and my physical therapist.
The day of the surgery required interacting with numerous HSS staff of different capacities as I went through check-in and ended in post-op. Without exception all of the HSS staff were competent, courteous and professional. It was impressive and a good experience.
