I had been in pain for 6 years, extreme pain for the last 4 years from advanced arthritis in my right hip. As an extremely active person who ran, worked out, hiked, kayaked, and played golf, the need to cut back on all these activities was extremely depressing. I work in Manhattan and also travel globally (India, China, Hong Kong, UK) for work and had developed a pronounced limp and needed special orthotics and shoes. I used to model and had pride in my healthy look but I felt terrible and looked terrible from the constant pain . I tried to keep a "game face" but would get very depressed. My blood was tested in 2009 and I have sensitivity to nickel and a few other metals. I was terrified of getting a hip replacement due to the horror stories I read about issues with metal.
I could not take it any longer so conducted research and found Dr. Buly. I am so happy I did! What a gift he is! He put me right at ease, assured me that no nickel would go into my body and said he promised I would get my life back.
Four months after my hip replacement in May 2014, I went hiking in the Adirondacks, ran up the stairs in Edinburgh, Scotland and walked around Victoria Peak in Hong Kong! No pain, no limp, no orthotics!! I cannot say enough good things about the HSS. Everything was wonderful from my first experience, through my surgery and recuperation. The staff was wonderful! Everyone was so caring. The hospital itself is pristine. Friends and family were so impressed with the hospital and the care. I cannot say enough about Dr. Buly and his entire staff. Caring professionals every step of the way. I called and emailed with questions a few times when recuperating and was always treated like I was special. I feel fantastic and really do have my life back! I'll always be grateful.
