I found Dr. Alejandro Gonzalez de la Valle's name on the internet. I was searching for another doctor besides the one who had treated my knees back in 2000. I was looking for a second opinion. I had torn meniscus/cartilage back in 2000.

Now fifteen years later my meniscus had disappeared and I was living with excruciating pain. My knees had been deteriorating for years due to several falls, weight gain and the twists that I never addressed in my youth during physical activity.

Dr. Gonzalez de la Valle inspired confidence in me not only in his friendly approach but also in his explanation of my condition and how he would address it. He operated my right knee first in October 2015 and my left knee in April 2016.

I am grateful to him because now in 2017 I am walking well and pain-free. Of course, there is a bit of soreness that always happens during damp or wet weather but it does not compare to the pain I was living with before the operations.

I am walking so well that I am seeking employment for the first time in years. I highly recommend Dr. Della Valle as a surgeon. My experience for the one night that I spent at Hospital for Special Surgery was wonderful. The staff was friendly, caring and supportive.
