Dr. Sheha and his staff are wonderful.
Up until Spring of 2021, I was very active. My husband and I enjoyed walking, hiking, biking, skiing and snowshoeing but the onset of right and left leg pain made it increasingly impossible to do any of these things. Within six months, the pain was so bad that I couldn’t even walk a neighborhood block.
My first doctor told me surgery wasn’t an option, so I contacted Dr. Sheha at HSS for a second opinion. He met with me and my husband, and reviewed my symptoms, history and goals. After reading my MRI and x-ray, he was very encouraging that surgery was a permanent solution for my problem. He also took the time to answer our questions, explain the surgery and associated recovery process. He performed a lumbar laminectomy. I had immediate relief from my pain. I began walking immediately and within five weeks of surgery I was able to resume hiking and snowshoeing. I just started cross-country skiing again.
I am so grateful to Dr. Sheha for giving me my active lifestyle back!
