Before I came under the medical care of Dr. Joshua Dines, I was having horrendous knee problems without a really concrete answer as to why I was in so much pain. I was someone who enjoyed walking as well as dancing for recreational activity. However, I noticed that my left knee pain was getting worse and worse. Before I came to Hospital for Special Surgery, orthopedists would often look at my knee for less than five minutes and pass me off to their Physicians' Assistant. Finally, I found Dr. Dines who made me feel comfortable and assured me that we would get down to the bottom of this problem. After an MRI and a more conservative path to treating my knee injury (apparently, there was plica wrapped around the left knee causing a lot of pain and discomfort), Dr. Dines and I both decided that he would clean up the knee through arthroscopic means and make sure that there was not anything else wrong. The surgery went very smoothly and as it turns out, the meniscus was torn (which did not show up on an MRI). This was January 2013, and whenever I go back to Dr. Dines for a routine check-up, he still treats me with the same care and attention he did when I first entered his office. Dr. Dines and his amazing staff have always made me feel comfortable and never as if I am imposing upon anyone (I am someone who likes to ask questions regarding any condition). I cannot say enough good qualities about this organized and extremely attentive staff! Even when I see Dr. Dines now, I thank him for his help both with my knee and helping me get my life back on track. I missed going for a walk and dancing and to be able to do both (with care), is a tremendous gift that I could not even begin to repay! Truly a great doctor and a wonderful facility!
