After all our Philadelphia-area pediatric doctors told us Kathryn would need to wait until she reached adulthood before they would consider her case, we were connected to HSS on the recommendation of a friend and put in touch with Dr. Vigdorchik. He reviewed Kathryn's information and said he would be able to help her as soon as she was ready. As an active kid, the constant pain was impacting too many aspects of her life so she decided to do the surgery in January (2025). Dr. Vigdorchik and his office were amazing. Dr. Vigdorchik explained the process, what he would need to do during surgery, and what to expect in recovery to Kathryn in such a way that she felt excited and hopeful as her surgery day approached. His office coordinator, Lisa Pugliese, was a trusted resource who helped us beyond measure throughout the process. By April 2025, Kathryn was back on the baseball field as the starting catcher for her team. Kathryn is living life pain-free and back to the sports she loves.
