I tore my ACL while skiing in Montana, and I came to HSS because I wanted to get back to my normal activities as quickly as possible! I’m an indoor cycling enthusiast who also loves outdoor trail runs and adventures of all kinds. In the month between my injury and ACL reconstructive surgery, I worked with physical therapists recommended by HSS to strengthen my injured leg through an intensive pre-hab routine, including indoor cycling. Even with a torn ACL I was able to achieve my personal best at my favorite cycle class just two days before surgery. I went in to the surgery feeling strong. 4 weeks post-surgery I was back to light indoor cycling and by 7 weeks post-surgery I was able to hike with friends in Joshua Tree National Park. Next? I’ll be ready to ski the slopes next season!
