In March 2015, days before the Softball Season started, I was at practice when we practicing hitting and running bases. As soon as I hit the ball and sprinted my way to first base I ran into the first baseman and fell flat on my right leg. I was in so much pain I needed help getting up and my knee was swollen. Soon after I visited the emergency room and took X-Rays and they couldn't see anything wrong but they recommended I get an MRI.
It was after I got my results when I unfortunately found out I tore my ACL and I wouldn't be able to play that season. It was heartbreaking because being a shy teenager it took a long time to finally build the courage to join and play for a team for the first time. My mom and I set an appointment to see a Doctor at HSS and that Doctor just so happened to be Dr. Samuel Taylor and from then on I had faith that by the time the next season started I would be on that field playing a game I would soon come to love.
I was walked through on exactly what would be happening the day of my surgery and the entire process after that. With therapy and dedication to recover as fast as I could I was able to play Softball my last year of high school. I am truly thankful for Dr. Taylor and everything he has done for me as well as his for being so kind to me and accepting me as their patient. Ultimately, Dr. Taylor gave me the confidence to finally "Get Back in the Game." :)
