I was suffering with pinched nerves in my lower back, which caused my quad muscles to atrophy and numbness in my knee and shin. I had a spinal laminectomy, which was unsuccessful at a hospital in New Jersey in Jan. of 2013. My condition worsened to the point where I could not walk more than one block. In July of 2013 Dr. Darren Lebl of the HSS did spinal revision surgery on the L 3,4 and 5 area of my spine which was successful. After the surgery and following a physical therapy program recommended by Dr. Lebl, I can not only walk but am skiing again after missing two seasons.
