I have been a patient with the Performance and Wellness team at HSS Westchester since January 2022. I ruptured my quadriceps tendon in July 2019 and had surgery with Dr. Joshua Dines, where I went through physical therapy at the Sports Rehabilitation and Performance Center on the Main Campus in NYC. As I progressed through my healing, I would have persistent issues with my tendon swelling. I knew I needed help to build my quadriceps back again in order to take the pressure off my tendon.
Due to various circumstances during my time at HSS Westchester, I had to change exercise physiologists from Max Castrogaleas to Chelsea Long to Mathew Welch back to Chelsea Long again. Truthfully, I was worried that the change in exercise physiologists would cause me to lose the gains that I have gained, and I would have to go back to square one.
I was wrong. I was really impressed with how all three exercise physiologists were able to step in and develop a program that will allow me to continue to reach my goals without skipping a beat. They knew me, they knew my history and they knew what I had been doing without even asking me. As I write this, my knee has never felt better. I truly would not be where I am today without HSS’ Performance Services group.
