For nearly a decade I had been nursing a bad shoulder. As an avid gardener and exercise enthusiast I had to modify my activities around decreasing shoulder mobility, but at 39 years old I finally realized the fear of surgery was allowing the injury to slowly take away everything I enjoyed. I wasn't prepared to let this continue and knew I had to make a change. It was this decision that guided my research on finding a healthcare provider that could help me determine the best treatment for my ailment. After a couple consultations with different physicians I decided on Dr. Joshua Dines. His professionalism and knowledge made me feel confident in his abilities as a practitioner and his personality made me feel at ease. From diagnostics to finance and through recovery I felt like I was in excellent hands while under the care of Dr. Dines and his amazing staff. There was a person to assist with every detail along the way and each one gave me more confidence in my decision to undergo treatment with HSS. There is no denying that surgery isn't fun but with the right support and excellent healthcare providers it really isn't so bad. Now looking back I realize how silly it was to give up years of enjoying my life just so I could avoid a few months of recovery. Living pain free for nearly two years now is a testament to the skills and knowledge of Dr. Dines and his team and I can't thank them enough for making it happen. -JDM
