Sometimes when I reflect back on my experience with HSS, I wonder if I dreamt it. Dr. Amar Ranawat replaced my right hip on a Wednesday morning and on Friday I walked out of the hospital on a cane. By the following Monday night, I was able to go out to dinner with my husband without the use of the cane. The overall quality of my life improved in a matter of days. I was back at my desk in 2 - 1/2 weeks and that involves commuting to the city and walking crosstown from GCS to Eighth Avenue. A month later we went to Paris and walked an average of five miles a day, including up and down the stairs to Sacre Couer. We spent a month in St. Croix where I was able to snorkel, something I hadn't been able to do in a couple of years because the weight of the fins hurt my hip.
The in-hospital experience was the best I have ever experienced. The care and perceptiveness of the staff made for a very comfortable stay.
